The Institut Català de Finances (ICF) Supervisory Board has chosen Secretary General of Economy and Finance Jordi Cabrafiga as chair of the institution at a meeting held on Thursday evening.

The Institut Català de Finances (ICF) Supervisory Board has chosen Secretary General of Economy and Finance Jordi Cabrafiga as chair of the institution at a meeting held on Thursday evening. Following a positive report from the public financial institution’s highest governing body, Jordi Cabrafiga was appointed as a proprietary member of the ICF at Tuesday’s Executive Council meeting along with three independent members and a new proprietary member.
Jordi Cabrafiga takes over from former chair Albert Castellanos, who will stay on as a proprietary member of the institution. Cabrafiga will chair the ICF’s Supervisory Board, which will also include the CEO, Víctor Guardiola; six independent members (Rafael Abella, Joan B. Casas, José Luís Peydró, Xavier Puig Pla, Pilar Soldevila and Albert Vilumara); and three more proprietary members (Albert Castellanos, Núria Cuenca and Matilde Villarroya). In total there are eleven members with a majority of independent ones, as specified in the legislation regulating public credit institutions.
The ICF’s new chair completed the Executive Master in Public Administration at Esade Business School and the Cluster Management Methodology Program at IESE following his Computer Engineering degree at Ramon Llull University. He rounded off these qualifications with the Vicens Vives Leadership and Civic Engagement Programme at Esade Business School.
Over his career he has worked at Hewlett Packard Spain, T-Systems and Barcelona Activa in innovation and strategic sectors.
In the public administration sector he is currently Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. He started out at Barcelona City Council as Management Director of the Mayor’s Office and as City Councillor for the Eixample District. Subsequently he has been Chief of Staff in the ministries of Governance and the Presidency and Secretary General in the Ministry of Business and Knowledge.

Its main mission is to foster funding for the business community in Catalonia in order to support the growth, innovation and sustainability of the Catalan economy.
