Pere Cots Juvé, new independent member of the ICF Supervisory Board

The appointment maintains the majority of independent members within the highest decision-making body of the public promotion bank of Catalonia. Cots, director of the Strategic Consulting and Financing Department at PIMEC, has a career of more than three decades with extensive experience in the field of strategic and financial consulting.

Pere Cots Juvé, director of the Department of Strategic Consulting and Financing at PIMEC, was appointed on Tuesday by the Catalan Government as an independent member of the ICF Supervisory Board, the highest decision-making body of the financial institution, equivalent to the board of directors of a company.

The appointment of Cots, which coincides with the expiration of the mandate of the previous member Rafael Abella Martin, maintains the majority of independent members within the Supervisory Board of the public bank for the promotion of Catalonia, as required by the state and European regulations applicable to credit institutions.

The majority of independent members guarantees the "organic, financial, patrimonial, functional and management autonomy" of the ICF, which acts "with full independence from the public administrations", in accordance with its law.

The appointment of Pere Cots, which has been carried out in accordance with the internal procedures of the financial institution that guarantee the independence of the candidates, has been approved following the prior favourable report of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee with respect to his suitability, knowledge and experience.

In this way, the ICF Supervisory Board, chaired by the Secretary General of the Department of Economy and Finance, Juli Fernández Iruela, is made up of a total of eleven members with a majority of six independent members and with Vanessa Servera i Planas as CEO of the entity.

The independent members to which Cots joins are Carme Hortalà i Vallvé, Joan B. Casas Onteniente, José Luis Peydró, Xavier Puig Pla and Pilar Soldevila Garcia, while the proprietary members, who represent the Catalan Government, are, apart from Fernández Iruela, Eva Giménez Corrons, secretary general of the Department of the Presidency; Francesc Trillas Jané, Secretary of Economic Affairs and European Funds, and Jaume Baró Torres, Secretary of Enterprise and Competitiveness.

 

Extensive experience in the field of strategic and financial consulting

Pere Cots is a professional with extensive experience in the field of strategic and financial consulting who currently holds the position of director of the Strategic Consulting and Financing Department at PIMEC, where he leads projects related to business succession and financing for small and medium-sized enterprises.

With a career spanning more than three decades, he has been a partner and director of Impuls Estratègic Consulting, specializing in the internationalization of companies with a particular focus on Eastern European markets.

In addition, he has held management positions in several multinational companies, including financial management at AlliedSignal Friction Materials and corporate management at Mat Investment Holding. His academic background includes a master's degree in Business Management and Administration from ESADE and a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Barcelona.
