The Fundación Privada Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau formalizes a €15 million loan with the Council of Europe Development Bank and an additional €12 million with the Institut Català de Finances and CaixaBank
The Fundación Privada Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau has formalized a long-term financing agreement in the form of a loan with the Council of Europe Development Bank, within a shared financing structure that includes CaixaBank and the Institut Català de Finances. This agreement aims to boost a strategic project for the expansion and consolidation of the Sant Pau Learning Campus, focused on the training of healthcare professionals and addressing the future needs of the healthcare system.
The project is partially financed by the Council of Europe Development Bank and has the support of the European Union through the InvestEU program. This financing will enable the rehabilitation and equipping of the Cuines Pavilion and the eastern part of the former Convent of the Sant Pau Historical Site, which will be transformed into a leading educational space within the Sant Pau Learning Campus.
The project envisages a total investment of €31 million, structured through a combined financing model that includes €15 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank, €12 million in national bank financing, with participation from CaixaBank and the Institut Català de Finances (ICF), as well as a direct contribution from the Fundación Privada Hospital de la Santa Creu.
The works are scheduled to begin during the 2025-2026 period, with an estimated completion in 2028.
The rehabilitated spaces will expand and consolidate the Sant Pau Learning Campus, providing multifunctional educational and training spaces to serve the training of healthcare professionals, university teaching, specialized training, and other knowledge-related activities, in line with the integrated campus model of Sant Pau.
