The Catalan SME, specialised in the digitisation of sales processes, has developed and patented a new concept of online sales and personalised, multimedia and multi-device customer service.

The Capital Expansió fund of the Institut Català de Finances (ICF) has invested 1 million euros in Catalan SMEs Whisbi Technologies, which specialises in the digitisation of the sales processes of companies. The fund made the investment through a convertible participative loan to promote the internationalisation and growth of the company, especially in the North American market.
Whisbi Technologies has developed and patented a new concept of online sales and personalised multimedia and multi device customer service that, among other functions, allows the user to experience the purchase remotely and in real time in a physical store. For companies, it is a value-added service that also allows them to significantly increase sales conversion ratios.
Whisbi, founded in 2008 by Alexandre Bisbe and Jose Luis Cantero, has its headquarters and R&D centre in Barcelona; it has a marketing office in Madrid and subsidiaries in Brazil and the United States, where it expects to grow significantly in the coming months. The firm works for large companies in the automotive, financial and telecommunications sectors, among others.
In addition to the founding partners, shareholders in Whisbi include Active Ventures Partners and Bertelsman Digital Media Investments.
About Capital Expansió
The fund Capital Expansió is a venture capital fund set up by the ICF in 2012 that invests in capital or through quasi-capital financial products. The objective of this fund is to invest in companies based in Catalonia with turnovers of more than 4 million euros to promote their growth, internationalisation and consolidation.
With the convertible participatory loan, the fund does not take part in the direct management of the business, unlike direct investment in the capital. Through this financial instrument, the fund provides resources for the company, the return of which is adapted to and based on the evolution of the business. Depending on business variables and/or other corporate operations, it may be partially or fully converted into capital.
