The financing transaction has involved other institutions and will enable the Catalan decorative paper specialist to expand the production capacity of its l’Ametlla del Vallès facilities by bringing in new technology-efficient equipment.

Barcelona, 9 May 2022. The Institut Català de Finances (ICF) has helped fund the purchase of new state-of-the-art equipment for Lamigraf, a company specialising in designing and manufacturing high-quality decorative paper for making furniture, laminate flooring and other indoor surfaces. The financing is part of a transaction which other financial institutions have taken part in and will make it possible to expand the production capacity of the firm’s l’Ametlla del Vallès facilities. The new equipment is expected to come on stream early next year.
This investment in more efficient and sustainable equipment and technology is a further step in the company’s strategy to drive sustainable development. Pep Colomer, CEO of Lamigraf Grup, says that “aside from reworking our operations in line with circular economy principles to reduce waste and reuse or recycle as much as possible, we are also striving for operational efficiency to cut energy usage and reuse energy resources such as heat from industrial equipment.”
Anna Àlvarez, the ICF’s General Director of Lending, points out that “these types of projects are fully in line with the ICF’s mission to foster the energy transition of Catalan businesses by helping to craft a greener and more sustainable economy.”
Lamigraf was established in 1976 and is based in l’Ametlla del Vallès. It also has other production sites in Germany, Brazil and China together with sales offices in the United States, Turkey, Thailand, China and Russia. “The key to our success is our strong commitment to exporting and growing abroad which has been there right from the outset,” notes Colomer. Integrating the most sensitive processes is also one of the company’s hallmarks. “Undertaking things like design, cylinder engraving and manufacturing printing inks has brought us greater flexibility in our product and service range.”
Over the next few years the company plans to roll out this state-of-the-art technology in all its production sites and expand the factory it has recently set up in China.
