The European Association of Public Banks (EAPB), which the ICF has been a member of since 2014, held a working meeting yesterday in Barcelona to update rules and policies on state aid and regulation and also share initiatives and expertise in public and sustainable financing.

EAPB meeting

Barcelona, 20 May 2022. The Institut Català de Finances (ICF) has hosted the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB) State Aid and Development Committee, a working meeting held on a regular basis to review developments in this field. Issues discussed included European investment projects, sustainable financing and measures to deal with the crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine.

The event brought together in person specialists from the ICF, the Catalan Ministry of Economy and Finance and Europe's leading public banks and public financial institutions including the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR), the Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) and Germany’s NRW.Bank. European Investment Fund (EIF) and European Commission officials also attended online.

This is the second time the ICF has hosted this working meeting, a chance to network, build synergies between European public banks and share expertise and insights on the common challenges of public banking.
