What is it?
The FITA fund is an instrument to promote start-up projects that foster scientific research transfer and marketing in Catalonia.
FITA, with the management company Grow Venture Partners at the helm, will be able to invest up to €55 million in the rollout of technology transfer projects originating in universities and research centres in Catalonia. In this sense, the management company will be the one who will decide how, where and when to invest the capital deposited by the participating partners, following the investment policy criteria established in the tender. The fund will be instrumental in channelling Catalan scientific production towards economic growth and social development to transform the ecosystem, foster the emergence of more and better companies and help researchers make the transition to business as entrepreneurs.
The fund will invest in technology transfer and intellectual property rights projects and also enterprises in the pre-seed, seed and start-up stages. The fund will help to make significant progress in promoting scientific research and entrepreneurship as a driver of the economy.
